**EXCLUSIVE--MUST CREDIT THE DEAD PELICAN**

The Obama Administration tried to pressure Louisiana Congressman Joseph Cao into supporting "Cap-and-Trade" legislation, THE DEAD PELICAN has learned.

Sources tell THE DEAD PELICAN that Obama personally called the freshman congressman to ask for his support of controversial legislation that will place a tax on carbon emissions!

Sources tell THE DEAD PELICAN that Obama (the Democrat) promised to assist Cao (the Republican) in his re-election in return for his vote!

Well-placed insiders tell THE DEAD PELICAN that Congressman Cao has refused Obama's offer and intends to vote in the interest of Louisiana by voting "no."

A well-placed source said "Apparently representative Cao places his constituents' interests above his own, which is a change from the former district Representative- 'Dollar Bill Jefferson!'"

According to The American Energy Alliance, under this cap-and-trade proposal, the federal government would tax all carbon-based energy sources, which represents nearly 86 percent of America’s energy.

AEA has called cap-and-trade a "job-killing proposal" that would hit some regions even harder than others. The group claims that in Rep. Cao’s district, working families and small businesses would see massive prices increases, as they rely on 91 percent of the carbon-based energy to keep their economy moving.

In Louisiana, cap-and-trade has received bi-partisan opposition, because it is seen as potentially devasting to Louisiana industry.

At the time of this writing, there are over 200 votes both for and against, sources tell THE DEAD PELICAN.

The winning side must get 218 votes.
