National Right to Life Endorses David Vitter

9/24/2015-- 11:16 AM

The National Right to Life Committee, the nation's oldest and largest pro-life organization, has endorsed U.S. Senator David Vitter for election as governor of Louisiana.

"During his service in the Congress, Senator Vitter earned a 100% pro-life voting record," said National Right to Life Legislative Director Douglas Johnson. "He has been a strong supporter of major landmark pro-life laws including the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act and the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which punishes those who injure or kill unborn children while committing federal crimes. Senator Vitter co-sponsored and voted to advance the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, groundbreaking legislation to protect unborn children at 20 weeks, a point by which the unborn child is capable of experiencing great pain when being killed by dismemberment or other late abortion methods."

"Having known and worked with David Vitter for many, many years, I know that he is a strong and committed pro-life leader," said Sharon Rodi, Louisiana delegate to National Right to Life. "His voting record and his leadership has shown time and time again that he has a proven record."

"All voters who are concerned with the right to life and with the protection of the most vulnerable members of the human family should elect Senator Vitter as governor, so that he can continue to work to advance vital pro-life public policies," said Carol Tobias, National Right to Life president.
