Scalise Responds to White House Plan to Scrap Revenue Sharing

2/11/2016-- 4:55 PM CDT

Congressman Steve Scalise has issued a response to the news about the White House plan to scrap drilling revenue sharing with gulf states:

"President Obama proposes to raid more than $3 billion in coastal restoration money that we fought hard to secure from offshore royalties that Congress passed years ago. How can President Obama claim to care about the environment at the same time he is trying to take away the very dollars that we dedicated to restore our coast so we can solve Louisiana's most urgent threat in generations? I will continue fighting against this offensive proposal so that Louisiana can finally get our fair share of oil royalties and maintain our commitment to restoring the coast and rebuilding the barrier that used to protect us from hurricanes and other storms.”
