Laurinda Calogne is running for Congressman Bill Cassidy's state senate seat in district 16. The state senate seat was vacated when Dr. Cassidy ran against Congressman Don Cazayoux and won.
Calogne's senate campaign launched its web site Thursday, where some are already noting early missteps by her campaign.
Calogne's web site boasts that ”Her campaign isn't financed by the politically powerful." Some say the this statement is intended as a shot at Lee Domingue's campaign donors.
However, insiders are noting that many of those donors are the very same people who supported Calogne's congressional run last year.
Cologne has also said that her campaigns “ideas aren't based on the same old tired political rhetoric or buzz words.” But what is the campaign based on?
At the time of this writing, the "issues" section of Cologne's web site was blank. It said that “Starting next week Laurinda will address an important issue and potential solutions.”
Insiders are already making political hay out of this fact.
Expect such missteps to be played upon heavily in the upcoming election.
